The Horrible Very Bad Day for MLPs and Energy... The Story ContinuesThe rebound/sell-off pattern is exactly as expected so far. The amplitudes appear a little greater than anticipated, but on the whole they are not surprising given the years of commodities rallies we experienced on the back of China and easy central bank money. Back on 29 Sept in my note &ldquo;Commodities: The Harder They Come, The Harder They Fall...&rdquo; the main message was be ready to trade the carnage, within an overall classic pattern. This followed an earlier note on the Horrible things that awaited MLPs I wrote back around 6 August.We got these trades, and flagged the trimming of positions that was needed in some of the names we picked. In August it made sense to expect that MLPs were looking bad and we should wait for blood on the streets. And we saw panic selling again in September before rebounds... and in the last week-- sheer panic selling. What follows is a quick review of issues/drivers, especially lessons we have seen in past, and what we can expect going forward.

Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings Inc. provides transportation and logistics services. The Company offers dry van, cross border freight transportation, fleet solutions, consulting, brokerage, equipment leasing, temperature controlled transport, and engineering services. Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings serves customers in North America.

Lyft, Inc. provides online ridesharing services. The Company offers ride booking, payment processing, and car transportation services. Lyft serves customers in the United States.

ArcBest Corp is a diversified holding company involved in motor carrier transportation and intermodal transportation operations.  The Company transports a variety of goods around the world.

Avis Budget Group, Inc. engages in the provision of vehicle sharing and rental services. It operates through the Americas and International segments. The Americas segment licenses the firm's brands for car rentals in the United States. The International segment leases out vehicles in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. It operates under the Avis, Budget, Zipcar, Payless, and Apex brands. The company was founded on August 23, 2006 and is headquartered in Parsippany, NJ.

Schneider National, Inc. operates as a transportation and logistics services company. The Company offers a broad portfolio of premier truckload, intermodal, and logistics solutions, as well as manages hire trucking fleets in North America. Schneider National provides asset-based truckload services with asset-light intermodal and non-asset logistics offerings.

TFI International Inc is in the transportation and logistics industry. The Company  identifies strategic acquisitions and manages a network of subsidiaries. TFI International operates across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Hitachi Transport System, Ltd. provides freight truck, port harbor, and marine transportation, logistics, cargo handling, warehousing, and customs clearing services.  The Company mainly transports Hitachi Ltd's freight such as industrial machinery and precision equipment.

TOKYU CORPORATION provides passenger rail transportation, bus transportation, truckload services, and air transportation serving the Tokyo and its surrounding areas.
