The selldown is part of SMC's effort to improve liquidity in FB and comply with the minimum public ownership rule of at least 10%.
SMFB is the market leader in the key market segments that it operates in. It dominates with a whopping 92% market share of the beer market, 35% of the processed meat market, and 36% of the spirits market in the Philippines. Despite the dominant market share, the company has still managed to achieve good market share and revenue growth with margin expansion. Revenue grew at a decent 10% CAGR from FY2015 to FY2017 while gross and net margin expanded to 32.7% and 10.7% respectively.
In this insight, we will look at the company's consolidated financial performance and its market share over the past three years, compare its valuation to other listed peers, and also make sense of the valuation from a SOTP perspective.
