In this month’s “In-Focus” section, we provide an update on the Indonesian real estate sector, including the impact of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, regulatory and accounting developments, and the macro outlook. We also comment broadly on the H1/20 results of the Indonesian real estate players under our coverage. Anton Oilfield’s H1/20 results were mostly in line with our expectation. Revenue and profitability declined as expected, owing to the challenging operating environment amid low oil prices. The company's new-orders won, which is a leading indicator for the business, dropped by almost a third. However, the backlog was flat q-o-q, with no further reduction in Q2, and remained large enough to sustain over 1.5 years of revenue. Leverage and coverage ratios deteriorated. The only surprise was the surge in capex. Anton pre-funded the maturity of the 2020 Notes last November, and has repurchased almost 40% of the Notes. Thus, the outstanding amount is manageable, considering the modest cash burn so far.
