Top ten highlights from the APAC PE, VC, and startup ecosystem this week:
- Private equity and venture capital investments in Indian startups dropped by 65% in November, reaching $483.6 million. This decline follows a recovery in September and October when startups collectively raised $1.38 billion.
- Indian startups experienced their peak in May, attracting $1.55 billion across 89 transactions. Fundraising remained below the $1-billion mark until August, with a recovery seen from September.
- Greater China witnessed a surge in venture investments in November, with startups securing 219 deals, a 10.1% increase compared to October.
- Despite increased dealmaking activity, investors are cautious about making large investments. Deal value in November saw a significant month-on-month decline of 34.2%, totaling nearly $3.6 billion. YoY, deal value dropped by 7.3%.
