In the United States, as per FAA classifications, any airplane with a MTOW (Maximum Takeoff Weight) of 300,000 pounds (136,000kg) is classified as heavy".
The pilot will designate his plane as "heavy" when talking to the Aircraft Control Tower  when taking off and landing to make clear that the tower should maintain separation between it and other aircraft. Tonight's flight from Singapore to Frankfurt the pilot might say "Tower, this is Singapore 26 Heavy..."
The issue is that the larger the airplane, and the slower it is going, the more 'wake turbulence" is created. That "wake turbulence" primarily comes from two sources. The first is the "jet wash" (which is the moving air coming out of jet engines - it is chaotic, and of short duration) made famous for many in the movie Top Gun.  The second is "wingtip vortices" where as the wing is generating lift, air flows over the wing in a regular pattern, and at the wingtips and other points, it swirls. This is highly regular, stable, and actually will last for minutes. This is the more dangerous, despite its stability. It is most easily seen in the rain or in super high humidity environments.

Tower is supposed to give time between planes so as the one coming after avoids the residual turbulence which may exist.
After the big plane does the big thing, you avoid the area. 
When covid-19 suddenly hit travel in early 2020, airlines around the world were reasonably quick to reduce capacity, and costs, and to raise equity to get through what was going to be a lean period. Singapore Air raised S$8.8bn in summer of 2020, and promised a possible raise of another S$6.2bn in summer of 2021. It ended up raising that in June as discussed in <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/insights/singapore-air-rights-mcbs-s-6-2bn-of-capital-suck" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="insights:51906" rel="noopener">Singapore Air Rights MCBs - S$6.2bn of Capital Suck</a>.
As discussed in <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/insights/singapore-air-the-rights-distribution-vol-is-your-friend" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="insights:39991" rel="noopener">Singapore Air - The Rights Distribution - Vol Is Your Friend</a> last year, the Rights Shares and Rights Mandatory Convertible Bonds (MCBs) significantly diluted common shareholders so even if there was a V-shaped recovery in business prospects, there would not be a V-shaped recovery in earnings per share. And that was the best case. 
The worst case was worse.

Thailand has found out an interesting mix of vaccines that is so far safe with a number of Thai as clinical trials that led the government to regain its confidence in the country's reopening. The company's share price has lagged the Thai Index by around 12% and it is currently trading at 7% PBR to its 5 years historical PBR. The downside may come from the slow down in the vaccination drive and also from the potential of further virus mutataion. Nonetheless, Thailand is recovering from the COVID-19 as herd immunity in China is expected to be achieved by end of this year thus a potential for a revenue increment in the next year.

Two months ago, <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/sembcorp-marine-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:11:1" rel="noopener">Sembcorp Marine (SMM SP)</a> announced a Rights Offering to raise S$1.5bn to recapitalise operations and provide working capital for the 16 projects currently under execution, some of which have been hit by delays where payment was expected sooner and it will instead come later. 
The Rights Offering, coming on top of another Rights Offering and distribution of shares a year ago as the company was <s>cast away by</s> separated from its erstwhile parent <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/sembcorp-industries-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:1087:1" rel="noopener">Sembcorp Industries (SCI SP)</a> seemed to upset shareholders who did not understand why a second large offering in a year was needed. The simple answer was that last year, the net capital raise was minimal. It was primarily designed to generate proceeds to be able to pay back a large loan extended by its parent before the split. This year it is about survival.  
As I noted then, it was important to read the <a href="https://links.sgx.com/FileOpen/Trading%20and%20Liquidity%20Update.ashx?App=Announcement&amp;FileID=672231" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Trading and Liquidity Update</a>. The big points are:

<li>Workers are scarce. Costs are up. There are supply constraints because of covid-19. Foreign workers who left can't come back. Relative Singapore success in fighting covid early on raised labor costs locally. It is tough to get new workers and new covid-19 measures introduced in May 2021 won't make it easier. </li>
<li>Projects are delayed. Cash Flows are delayed. In particular, the delivery of two drillships to Transocean has been deferred from FY21/22 to FY2023 and later, delaying S$610mm in cash flow.</li>
<li>The company needs to optimize cost structure</li>
<li>Group turnover this year has been lower than expected. </li>
<li>The group needs to raise money to get comfort on ability to complete existing contract base.</li>
<li>The company is pivoting to renewables and clean energy solutions.</li>
</ol>
The company needs money for all this. And a Rights Issue would provide certainty and immediacy.
The Securities Investors Association (Singapore), which has the general reputation of standing up to companies which do deals where retail investors are inconvenienced, came out with a press release with questions on <a href="https://sias.org.sg/latest-updates/press-statement-questions-to-sembcorp-marine-on-its-latest-proposed-rights-issue/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">15 July</a> which SMM answered on <a href="https://links.sgx.com/FileOpen/Announcement.ashx?App=Announcement&amp;FileID=675213" target="_blank" rel="noopener">19 July</a>.  The company got its Approval in Principle in early August from the SGX. SIAS sponsored a virtual dialogue on <a href="https://sias.org.sg/latest-updates/transcript-of-sias-sembcorp-marine-virtual-dialogue-6-august-2021/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">6 August</a>. There was an update on the <a href="https://links.sgx.com/1.0.0/corporate-announcements/JWHV82WCY953USMS/7bf07888e4783b9b297db68ce0cfac6a63afa1e381c0f244820b7f7d26feba8f" target="_blank" rel="noopener">18th of August</a> from the company, a further very late-in-the-day Q&amp;A published on <a href="https://links.sgx.com/FileOpen/Response%20to%20additional%20questions%20from%20shareholders.ashx?App=Announcement&amp;FileID=680896" target="_blank" rel="noopener">23 August</a> in the morning before the EGM, the EGM was held yesterday, the Rights Offering was approved, and...
...Today after the close, we have an announcement of the Rights Trading Period (31 Aug - 8 Sep), the Exercise Period (31 Aug - 14 Sep) and Pay Date (22 Sep) along with a re-delivery of all the documents from late June and early August (<a href="https://links.sgx.com/FileOpen/Launch%20Announcement.ashx?App=Announcement&amp;FileID=681089" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Announcement</a>, <a href="https://links.sgx.com/FileOpen/Media%20Release.ashx?App=Announcement&amp;FileID=681090" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Media Release</a>, <a href="https://links.sgx.com/FileOpen/Presentation.ashx?App=Announcement&amp;FileID=681091" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Presentation</a>, and <a href="https://links.sgx.com/FileOpen/Trading%20and%20Liquidity%20Update.ashx?App=Announcement&amp;FileID=681092" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Trading and Liquidity Update</a>).

Although the Singapore government has brought back the phase 2 heightened alert requirement that prohibits dining-in just last week, the co-chair of the multi-ministry task force, Lawrence Wong, announced today that the Singapore government will review the COVID-19 restrictions in early August only for the vaccinated people. As the restrictions are potentially going to be eased off including allowing dining-in, the coming back of the working in the office rather than from home, and the ability to travel overseas are back again, there will be an increase in the mobility rate and <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/comfortdelgro-corp-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:497:1" rel="noopener">Comfortdelgro Corp (CD SP)</a> is the main beneficiary through the higher traffic in the domestic travel (through MRT and busses) and also the overseas trip through higher taxi ridership.
